Howdy, I’m Devin!

(and while I don’t say ‘howdy’ IRL, it felt right here, so just go with it.)

I’ve been riding since I was six years old, and have worked for trainers since high school in the western disciplines. I thought I was destined to be a trainer and follow that career path until a short stint in Arizona changed my life.

Living in the small town of Wickenburg, where rodeo and ropings were king, I realized my passion for photography. What started as a hobby of taking pictures for myself, turned into a passion I couldn’t ignore. I bought a camera, taught myself how to use it, and have never looked back.

Now, I stick to training my own horses and taking photos for you to hold onto for a lifetime.

I'm obsessed with capturing the candid and real moments of you with your horse—avoiding posed, stiff images that don't truly reflect your personality. I know the connection with your horse is the most precious thing in your life, and I'm dedicated to showcasing that love through your photos.

My biggest goal for our shoots together is to create a comfortable environment where you can feel relaxed and completely like yourself. I firmly believe in mirroring that same authenticity during our session, so you'll probably find me sporting checkered vans and a cozy sweatshirt to be true to who I am. I genuinely value embracing my own true self, and it's my mission to encourage you to do the same.

When I’m not behind the camera, I’m an avid breakaway roper and proud owner of two magnificent horses.

Funny story, my boyfriend and I actually bought our horses sight unseen through Facebook. We were sent videos, fell in love, and had them shipped from Canada—and it’s been a journey of love and growth ever since. We have a gelding, the crowd favorite with a puppy dog personality, and a Pepto filly who, on the other hand, ought to have a seat belt just to stay on.

To me, rodeo isn’t just a hobby, it’s a way of life, and photography allows me to dive deeper into this lifestyle. I cherish every opportunity to showcase my skills and bond with these incredible animals. I also hold a degree in Business Management and Western Equestrian Studies.

While I’m based on the border of Indiana and Michigan, I’m open to traveling. I know the horse trailer life pretty darn well (and will be doing it again soon when we head down to Florida). Exploring new places brings me joy, and I love experiencing the freedom and beauty of the open road.

Apart from the industry and photography, I’m a big fan of New Girl (heartbroken it’s no longer on Netflix), snowboarding, hiking, painting, reading, and creating for my apparel line, Buck the Stigma. And for the record, yes, I am a natural blonde.

If you’re as excited about working together as I am, let’s get started!
